Tips on babyproofing your home for the overly active toddler!
Baby Proofing
It is best to baby proof your house before you need to or your house will look like a tornado hit it and you will be chasing after your baby so she doesn’t stick her finger in an electrical outlet or play with that bottle of cleaner.
Baby Gates:
If they sell these at Costco (or any other wholesale store) I would recommend picking up some. My husband said we needed one at the bottom of the stairs and I was like why? A month later when the baby would continuously crawl up the stairs (and not know how to climb back down) and I knew why. We have baby gates in our house that are mounted to the wall and swing in and outwards instead of having to take them in and out of place all the time – they are so much easier but were more expensive at $70.00 each.
Electrical Outlets:
Just buy a huge pack and stick them everywhere – you will have a fun time trying to get them out when you need to plug something in.
Cupboard locks:
I have found it hard to find locks for the cupboards that fit. The current ones I have, have a long latch so you can pull them out an inch and then push them down to release them. This might work if a baby’s arm was super skinny and can reach in and grab a fair amount of things in that inch including all my hair elastics and make-up.
Well happy baby proofing and try not to worry if they get into everything unless its harmful, messes can be cleaned (a couple of times a day I might add.)
